Error? What Error?
Presented at: Webinar - 2-Feb-2012

Abstract: A common situation that all developers have faced is integrating a new feature in an (APEX) application, launching it into production, and then getting the dreaded “It doesn’t work” phone call.  How could this happen? You covered all the angles. Apparently not all of them... So what do you do now? Most end-users provide very little information about these errors.

This presentation will discuss various methods on how to handle and catch error messages in your APEX application along with various testing techniques to help find errors while your code is still in the development phase. It will also cover the new APEX 4.1 error handling features.

Topics to be covered include APEX error handling, new 4.1 error handling, and the APEX dictionary.

APEX Plug-ins 101
Presented at: Webinar - 7-Sept-2011

Abstract: One of the hottest new features introduced in Oracle APEX 4 is the plug-in architecture. Plug-ins allow developers to create their own APEX objects in a declarative and supported manner. By creating your own plug-ins you can vastly expand APEX's current functionality to create anything you want in your application. You're only limited by your creativity, so the possibilities are virtually limitless!

Martin Giffy D'Souza has created some of the most popular plug-ins available on the APEX plug-in community page. He has learned a lot about the architecture and what it takes to make a robust plug-in. In this session Martin will help get you started with creating your first APEX plug-in. He will also provide you with some tips and useful tools to successfully build plug-ins. This presentation will help you take your out-of-the-box APEX experience to a whole new level.

Additional Notes: This presentation was sponsored by Red Gate Software.
